A performance of The Loser by Thomas Bernhard/A. S. Pushkin, directed by Nataša Radulović, is scheduled for Wednesday, 6th November at 21st Festival of the Union of Theatres in Europe, UTE FEST 21, in Cluj (Romania). Productions by some of the most important theatres in Europe will be performed at this festival. Last year, the Yugoslav Drama Theatre took part in the Cluj Festival with the production of Titus Andronicus.
The Loser is a daring mixture of Pushkin’s “little tragedy” about Mozart and Salieri and Bernhard’s novel about music, genius, envy, terrors of success and how easily a person may fail in their endeavours. The production premièred in May last year on our Studio YDT stage. That same year, this production, with the cast including Joakim Tasić, Lenka Petrović, Stojša Oljačić and Teodor Vinčić, was part of two festivals – in September at 58th Dimitria Festival in Thessaloniki (Greece) and in October at the ZAPLET 15 International Theatre Festival in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina) where Joakim Tasić received the best actor of the festival award.
For his performance in The Loser, Joakim Tasić received the Miloš Žutić Award for 2023. The award ceremony will take place on 27th November on the Studio YDT stage after the end of performance.
