The competition programme of 14 th Purgatorije Mediterranean Theatre Festival in Tivat includes a performance of Why Does Herr R. Run Amok? by Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Michael Fengler, directed by Bobo Jelčić, scheduled for Wednesday, 28 th August. So far, this production has taken part in theatre festivals in Mladenovac, Užice, Mostar and Zagreb and received a number of awards: Ardalion awards for best production, best director – Bobo Jelčić and best male actor – Boris Isaković at Without Translation festival of Yugoslav theatre in Užice; Awards for best director – Bobo Jelčić and best male actor – Boris Isaković at the Fadil Hadžić Days of Satire theatre festival in Zagreb; Grand Prix for best production, best director – Bobo Jelčić, best actor Boris Isaković, Media Jury Award at the International Comedy Festival ‘Mostarska Liska’ in Mostar.
A performance of The Glass Neck by Bilјana Srblјanović, directed by Jagoš Marković, will mark the end of this year’s Mediterranean Theatre Festival on 30 th August. The production of The Glass Neck has had guest performances at Gavella theatre in Zagreb, at Milivoje Živanović theatre festival (festival award went to Jelisaveta Sablić for her portrayal of Bogdanka) and at the International Small Scenes Theatre Festival in Rijeka (awards went to Dragan Mićanović for his portrayal of Ljubo and to Vesna Trivalić for her portrayal of Svetlana).
