The General Assembly of the Union of Theatres in Europe (UTE) was held on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June at the Yugoslav Drama Theatre. This was the first time in nearly three years that the members of the Union were able to meet face to face seeing as all the meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic were held on-line.
At the General Assembly, YDT director Tamara Vučković Manojlović was elected a member of the UTE board.
One of the main topics was international cooperation and the Catastrophy project, co-produced by the Yugoslav Drama Theatre and the National Theatre in Barcelona and the Finisterre festival scheduled for February 2023 in Porto, bringing together different theatre companies, members of the Union.
The General Assembly was attended by more than twenty directors and representatives of theatres, members of the UTE, from France, Romania, Luxembourg, Portugal, Poland, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece, Czech Republic…
The Yugoslav Drama Theatre became a member of this network of the most important theatres in Europe in 2006 and is the only theatre from the region to belong to this organisation.
