This weekend the production of Why Does Herr R. Run Amok? by Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Michael Fengler will be taking part in festivals in Mećavnik and Vranje.
A performance is scheduled for Friday, 25th October at 4th Kustendorf Theatre festival at Mećavnik and two days later, on Sunday 27th October at 39th Bora’s Theatre Days festival in Vranje.
The production of Why Does Herr R. Run Amok? has so far been part of One-Act Theatre Festival in Mladenovac, 23rd Without Translation festival of Yugoslav theatre in Užice, 16th International Comedy Festival ‘Mostarska Liska’ in Mostar, 43rd Fadil Hadžić Days of Satire theatre festival in Zagreb, 4th Purgatorije Mediterranean Theatre Festival in Tivat, 59th International Theatre Festival MESS in Sarajevo and at 53rd Bitef theatre festival.
As director of this production Bobo Jelčić received the Ardalion award at the theatre festival in Užice, ‘Mostarska Liska’ award at the theatre festival in Mostar, best director award at Fadil Hadžić Days of Satire theatre festival in Zagreb and the special artistic achievement award at the theatre festival in Tivat.
Boris Isaković received the Ardalion award for best male actor at the festival in Užice, Mladen Crnobrnja Gumbek award for best male actor at the Fadil Hadžić Days of Satire theatre festival in Zagreb and the best actor award at the Purgatorije theatre festival in Tivat for his portrayal of Herr R. At festivals in Užice, Mostar and Tivat Why Does Herr R. Run Amok? was considered the best all-round production of the festival and at the festival in Mostar it received the media award for best production.
