“Corruption? Corruption is no more than a trifle…. Many people do exactly that.”
“Bribe! What a word – bribe! They thought of it themselves only to insult honest people. This here is no bribe, it’s just an expression of gratitude. And it would be a sin to prevent someone from feeling grateful, it would be an offence.”
“Unforgivable foolishness! They refuse to take bribes and plan to survive on their salary alone.”
“Believe me when I say that every petty scribe knows it is better to be an ordinary man with your belly full than a hungry philosopher.”
“Honest poverty only looks attractive on stage.”
“Those that didn’t get caught, they’re not thieves – that’s the general public opinion.”
“And pretending honesty, by god, makes no sense at all!” In a community where corruption has become a social norm, and how to please your superiors more important than a degree, arranging a profitable position for oneself is a matter of survival.

The production has won two Ardalion awards – best director and best costume design at 19 th Yugoslav Theatre Festival in Užice.
