On Saturday, 13th June, the Yugoslav Drama Theatre will host the General Assembly of the most prestigious theatre association in Europe – the Union of Theatres in Europe (UTE). A day earlier, on 12th June, the UTE Board of Directors will hold a meeting. The YDT General Manager, Tamara Vučković Manojlović, will attend the meeting in her capacity as a Board member. This year marks exactly twenty years since YDT became a member of the Union.

From 11th to 14th June, Belgrade and the Yugoslav Drama Theatre will welcome representatives from various UTE member theatres, including: Teatro di Roma (Italy), Teatre Nacional de Catalunya from Barcelona (Spain), Teatro Nacional São João from Porto (Portugal), Piccolo Teatro (Italy), National Theatre of Northern Greece from Thessaloniki (Greece), Théâtre National de Luxembourg (Luxembourg), Sfumato Theatre Laboratory (Bulgaria), Hungarian Theatre of Cluj  (Romania), Miskolc National Theatre (Hungary), Centro Dramatico Galego (Galicia, Spain)…

During their stay in Belgrade, the delegates will also attend performances from our theatre’s regular repertoire.

General Assemblies of the Union of Theatres in Europe are held twice a year in different European cities, hosted by UTE member theatres. The latest General Assembly took place at the Teatro di Roma in Rome in November 2025. Among other topics, that session featured the presentation of the UTE educational project for 2026 – the UTE ACADEMY – which brings together young actors and actresses from member theatres. This academy is one of the Union’s regular educational initiatives, with the Yugoslav Drama Theatre taking an active part.
