The Yugoslav Drama Theatre production of William Shakespeare’s Richard II, directed by Boris Liješević, will be performed on Saturday, August 29, as part of the official selection of the “Purgatories” Mediterranean Theatre Festival held in Tivat. The play, which had its premiere performance on April 4, this year, features Milan Marić, Vojin Ćetković, Igor Samobor, Aleksandar Đurica, Anđelika Simić, Sanja Marković, Aleksej Bjelogrlić, and Danilo Milovanović.
This year’s 21st edition of the Mediterranean Theatre Festival will close with Branislav Nušić’s People’s Deputy, directed by Vito Taufer will be performed on Monday, August 31. The production will be performed on the Summer Stage following the official awards ceremony. People’s Deputy had its premiere on December 17, 2025. The cast includes Dragan Mićanović, Sloboda Mićalović, Srđan Timarov, Miodrag Dragičević, Nataša Ninković, Aleksandar Đurica, Goran Šušljik, Branko Vidaković, Marta Bogosavljević, Zoran Cvijanović, Lazar Đukić, and Lazar Nikolić.
The Yugoslav Drama Theatre regularly performs at the “Purgatories” Mediterranean Theatre Festival, both with productions in the competition program and with major pieces selected to officially close the festival.
