The 100th performance of one of the most popular productions on the Yugoslav Drama Theatre repertoire – My Husband by Rumena Buzharovska, directed by Jovana Tomić, is scheduled for Sunday, 22nd September.
The production opened on 18th April, 2021 on our Studio YDT stage in the presence of the author Rumena Buzharovska with a cast of Jovana Belović and Sanja Marković. Dramaturgy by Dimitrije Kokanov, costume design by Maja Mirković with the original score composed by Luka Mejdžor. The text by Rumena Buzharovska was translated into Serbian by Irena Šentevska.
The YDT production of My Husband had guest performances at the MOT International Theatre Festival in Skopje, the Ohridsko Leto festival in Ohrid (North Macedonia) and the Belef festival in Belgrade. At the festivals in Banja Luka (Zaplet 13) and in Topola (Two-Hander theatre festival) it won best production awards and Jovana Belović and Sanja Marković both received best actress awards. At 27th edition of the International Small Scene Theatre Festival in Rijeka the special partnership award went to Jovana Belović and Sanja Marković for the plethora of characters they portray in My Husband, and the jury of the Novi List daily newspaper was unanimous in awarding the Mediteran award to Sanja Marković.
The Yugoslav Drama Theatre annual awards for the production of My Husband went to Jovana Tomić as director, to Dimitrije Kokanov for dramaturgy and to Jovana Belović and Sanja Marković for all the roles they play in this production. They also became recipients of the Nebojša Glogovac award for outstanding creation by a young actor.
