The production of Why Does Herr R. Run Amok? by Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Michael Fengler, directed by Bobo Jelčić, will have its 50th performance on Wednesday, 7th December on our Ljuba Tadić stage. The initial cast (the production opened on 6th June 2018) included Boris Isaković, Nataša Tapušković, Branko Cvejić, Dubravka Kovjanić, Milan Marić, Bojan Dimitrijević, Jelena Stupljanin, Vesna Čipčić, Feđa Stojanović, Pavle Korać and Rade Stojiljković.
The production of Why Does Herr R. Run Amok? has won awards at the Without Translation festival of Yugoslav Theatre in Užice (the Ardalion award for best performance, the Ardalion award for best director – Bobo Jelčić, the Ardalion award for best actor for the role of Herr R. – Boris Isaković), the Fadil Hadžić Days of Satire theatre festival in Zagreb (best director Bobo Jelčić, Mladen Crnobrnja Gumbek best male actor award – Boris Isaković), International Comedy Festival ‘Mostarska Liska’ in Mostar (Grand Prix for best production, Ahmet Obradović best director award – Bobo Jelčić, best actor award – Boris Isaković, Media jury award), Purgatorije Mediterranean Theatre Festival in Tivat (Best Production of the Festival, Best actor award – Boris Isaković, Special artistic achievement award – Bobo Jelčić), ‘Joakimfest’ International Theatre Festival in Kragujevac (Grand Prix for best production) and at the Days of Zoran Radmilović theatre festival in Zaječar (Best actor award – Boris Isaković). The production took part in the BITEF International Theatre Festival, MESS Festival in Sarajevo, Kustendorf Theatre Festival at Mećavnik, Bora’s Theatre Days Festival in Vranje and has also had guest performances at the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad.
The cast of tomorrow’s jubilee performance will include Boris Isaković, Nataša Tapušković, Vojislav Brajović, Dubravka Kovjanić, Lazar Đukić, Bojan Dimitrijević, Jelena Stupljanin, Vesna Čipčić, Irfan Mensur, Pavle Korać and Rade Stojiljković.
