The new theatre season of 2024-2025 at the Yugoslav Drama Theatre will begin with performances of some of our productions at theatre festivals in North Macedonia and Montenegro.
The closing ceremony of this year Ohrid Summer Festival on Tuesday, 20th August will include a performance of Alice in Fearland by Eva Mahkovic, directed by Aleksandar Popovski. A few days later, on Sunday 25th and Monday 26th August, the most recent Yugoslav Drama Theatre productions – Michael Kohlhaas by Heinrich von Kleist, directed by Boris Liješević will be performed at the Budva City Theatre Festival in Budva. This production opened on 17th April this year also has two guest performances scheduled for 29th August at the Monastery of the Holy Trinity at Stanjevići. Thursday, 29th August will also see a performance of Oedipus, based on a play by Sophocles, directed by Vito Taufer at the Purgatorije Mediterranean Theatre Festival in Tivat as part of the competition programme. The closing of the festival scheduled for Saturday, 31st August will see a performance of Travelling Troupe Šopalović by Ljubomir Simović, directed by Jagoš Marković.
