Dejan Matić, actor and associate of the Yugoslav Drama Theatre for many years, died today in Belgrade.

His first production for the YDT was in 1989. This was The Valjevo Hospital by Dobrica Ćosić, directed by Dejan Mijač. This production was followed by Can I Play With You by Marcel Achard, directed by theatre troupe T. Kuguars founded by Matić together with Dragan Jovanović and Rade Marković in 1991, A Member of Parliament by Branislav Nušić, directed by Dejan Mijač, Mario and the Magician by Thomas Mann, directed Nikita Milivojević, The Robbers by Friedrich Schiller, direced by Branislav Lečić, Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Mein Kampf by George Tabori, The Last Days of Mankind by Karl Kraus / Nenad Prokić, all three directed by Gorčin Stojanović, Stuffed Courgettes by Sanja Domazet, directed by Aleksandra Kovačević, Salome by Oscar Wilde, directed by Roman Viktyuk and The Coronel Bird by Hristo Boytchev, directed by Radoslav Milenković.

Dejan Matić graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Art in Belgrade under the mentorship of professor Milenko Maričić. Matić also appeared in a number of productions in other theatres in Belgrade but also on film and television.
