The exhibition of posters –POSTER IS DRAMA – was opened at Taylor Hall Gallery at the University in the American City of Delaware on 1st September.

According to the Exhibition Catalogue, Ilić has been setting new standards in the field of theater posters for decades now. Instead of simplified promotion, his works confront, provoke and involve the audience in the world of a play even before the curtain rises. The Exhibition presents more than 45 awarded works, ranging from the posters designed for the Yugoslav Drama Theater to those he has done for the main stages of New York and beyond.

The Exhibition lasts until 21st November.

Only ten days or so later, on 11th September, the exhibition of Mirko Ilić’s works called TIME AFTER TIME AFTER TIME was opened in Rijeka’s Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA). Among Ilić’s works belonging to all the stages of his career, the exhibition coauthored by the Croatian Designers Association also showcases the posters for the plays of the Yugoslav Drama Art.

Based on the MMCA’s collection and expanded by a considerable number of Ilić’s works belonging to all the stages of his career, the Exhibition offers a fresh reading of his oeuvre, this time processed and interpreted through the topic of time.

The Exhibition is open until 26th October.

Ilić’s cooperation with the Yugoslav Drama Art has been lasting for eight full seasons, stepping into the ninth this autumn. His posters are known for their conceptual clarity and fearless imagination. They have been awarded multiple times the most significant honors in the field of design and exhibited in galleries throughout the world.
