Guest performances of Audience by Václav Havel, directed by Milan Nešković, are coming the Studio stage of the Yugoslav Drama Theatre. The first performance is scheduled for Friday, 4th November at 8.30 pm. This is the first ever performance of this Archangel Studio production with the cast including Nikola Rakočević and Miodrag Radonjić. Set design by Milan Nešković and costume design by Biljana Grgur.
Audience is the first play published by Havel in 1975. This one-act play is based on a dialogue between the main character Vaněk, a writer whose writing has been banned by the Czechoslovak Communist regime, and his boss, brewmaster Sládek, who has been charged with spying on him.
Havel’s play text adopts a warm and humorous approach to problems that, unfortunately, exist to this day such as censorship, persecution and silencing which remain present in all totalitarian regimes.
Further performances are scheduled for 13th and 27th November.
