A performance of Oedipus by Sophocles, directed by Vito Taufer, is scheduled for Sunday, 12th May at the 29th edition of the Small Stages Theatre Festival in Rijeka.
So far, this production has had two performances at the Istanbul City Theatre (Türkiye), was part of the tenth MITEM International Theatre Festival in Budapest, had guest performances at the ZYT in Zagreb, the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, 28th Without Translation festival of Yugoslav Theatre in Užice and at the Slovene National Theatre Drama in Ljubljana.
Since the inception of the festival in Rijeka in 1994, the Yugoslav Drama Theatre first appeared with a production of The Belgrade Trilogy by Biljana Srbljanović, directed by Goran Marković in 2001. Since then, fifteen of our productions have been performed at this festival, we have won 26 awards and the last production to appear at this festival was that of My Husband by Rumena Bužarovska, directed by Jovana Tomić, in 2022.
