The Yugoslav Drama Theater starts yet another season with guest performances, which this year include two performances at the “Purgatories” Mediterranean Theater Festival held in Tivat.
The competition program to be held on Thursday, August 28th, includes the performance of the play Man’s Teardrop, based on works by A. P. Chekhov and directed by Aleksandar Popovski. The play had its premiere performance on the “Ljuba Tadić” Main Stage on October 12th, 2024.
This year’s “Purgatories” will ceremonially be closed on Sunday, August 31st, on which occasion awards will be delivered and Dušan Kovačević’s play St. George Slays the Dragon, directed by Milan Nešković, will be performed. This play received four awards at the Sterijino Pozorje Festival, namely the acting awards were delivered to Nikola Rakočević and Anđelika Simić, whereas the Sterija Award for the Best Costume Design went to Biljana Grgur. The SCOMEDIASCO Production Company Award for the Outstanding Episode was given to Anđelika Simić.
The September Repertoire will be announced on Tuesday, September 2nd, and tickets go on sale a day later, on Wednesday, September 3rd.
