Rehearsals of Travelling Troupe Šopalović started today at Yugoslav Drama Theatre. The author Ljubomir Simović sat in on the first rehearsal. Direction and set design by Jagoš Marković, costume design by Lana Cvijanović with Ljiljana Mrkić Popović as voice coach. The cast includes: Vojislav Brajović, Anita Mančić, Nenad Jezdić, Olga Odanović, Marko Janketić, Ljubomir Bandović, Irfan Mensur, Miloš Samolov, Jovana Belović, Milica Sužnjević and Sanja Marković.
The play by Ljubomir Simović premièred on 10th October, 1985 at Yugoslav Drama Theatre, directed by Dejan Mijač. Actors Miša Janketić, Miloš Žutić, Đurđija Cvetić, Branka Petrić, Jasmina Ranković, Ljiljana Međeši, Milan Gutović and Gojko Šantić were among the cast of the original production which received a number of awards at Sterijino Pozorje theatre festival in 1986 (best modern play, best production, best director…).
The current production of Travelling Troupe Šopalović is scheduled to open in March 2020.
