The Annual Assembly of the most significant theatre organization in Europe – the Union of European Theatres (UTE) – was held at the Teatro di Roma theatre in Rome yesterday, Sunday (30th November). At the Assembly, new projects, cooperations, and the exchange of productions between theatres, three festivals to be held next year, and a new UTE’s project – the one-year Academy that will enable young artists from the Union member countries to work and professionally develop working with European theatre professionals – were discussed. The Yugoslav Drama Theatre will be part of the UTE’s Academy Project that will open in Teatro di Roma in March 2026. Apart from that, an exchange of productions was agreed upon with the theatres from Rome (Teatro di Roma), Thessaloniki (Thessaloniki National Theatre) and Sofia (Sfumato Theatre).

The next Annual Assembly of the Union will be held in Belgrade in May 2026, on the twentieth anniversary of the YDT’s membership in this Union.

One day before, i.e. on Saturday (29th November), the Union’s Board of Directors had met and promulgated important decisions prior to the holding of the Annual Assembly of the Union. The meeting was also attended by Tamara Vučković Manojlović, General Manager of the YDT, who is serving her second term on the Board of Directors.
