A performance of Uncle Vanya by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, adapted and directed by Egon Savin, is scheduled for Tuesday, 15th October at the Gavella Theatre in Zagreb as part of 34th Gavella Evenings festival in Zagreb.
This is a production which aims to bring back to the stage psychological realism and stories of ordinary people who are unhappy for their own personal reasons regardless of the society they belong to. The cast includes Branislav Lečić, Nenad Jezdić, Marija Vicković, Bogdan Diklić, Milica Gojković, Dubravko Jovanović and Aleksandra Nikolić.
The production of Uncle Vanya, which opened on the Ljuba Tadić Stage of Yugoslav Drama Theatre on 8th December, 2018, has had performances at Theatre Spring festival in Šabac and at BOK festival in Bijelovar. This time, after Zagreb, the production travels to Ljubljana for a performance at Slovene National Theatre Drama on 10th December.
