INFORMATION ON TICKET SALES

To our esteemed patrons

In view of the fact that seven of our performances had to be cancelled during the month of February, tickets for which had to be substituted for later performances and left at the Box Office, the remaining tickets for certain performances could not be purchased on-line. Seeing as the ticket substitution has been completed, the remaining tickets will be made available online as of 4pm today. We take this opportunity to once again apologise for any inconvenience and ask for your understanding for the way our ticketing system operates. Normally, at 1pm on the day tickets become available on-line, there are usually more visitors to our website at the same time than the system can handle which usually results our system crashing. This problem has occurred regularly over the last few months as soon as the tickets became available online which has been a problem for all those wishing to buy tickets. At the same time, this problem caused delays in the sale of tickets at the Box Office as well, since the Box Office uses the same system. But rest assured, we are working on finding a solution for this problem.

Normally, for each performance, tickets for half the seats are made available online and the remaining half is available from the Box Office. There are a total of 582 seats for our Main Stage so 291 are usually available online. Generally, people rarely buy just one ticket so this number can immediately be divided by two or sometimes by four. In the on-line space, this is a relatively small number of people which is why most tickets are sold during the first few minutes of ticket sales. The smaller stage has a total of 98 seats, tickets for which tend to disappear even more quickly as only 49 tickets are available online.

This is why we suggest to postpone ticket acquisition for some time later on the day tickets become available since mistakes tend to happen and we often have returns. In addition, there are often tickets seats still available from the Box Office later in the afternoon and well into the evening, especially if there are several performances of the same production that month (the Box Office is open until 8pm and often longer). Moreover, during the course of the month it often happens that due to illness, sudden changes of plans, tickets are returned to us so it is always a good idea to ring up the Box Office to check if there are any returns.

Thank you for your understanding.
