The Yugoslav Drama Theatre received two awards for its production of The Development Path of Bora Šnajder by Aleksandar Popović, directed by Egon Savin, at the tenth edition of The New Fortress Theatre festival at Čortanovci.

The jury comprised of Emina Salai Elor, Igor Burić and Nikola Zavišić (president of the jury) gave the best actress award to Branka Šelić for her portrayal of Lina, née Perekitka, in The Development Path of Bora Šnajder. The jury justified its decision with these words: In her portrayal of Lina, née Perekitka, Branka Šelić uses completely opposite means from those used by her colleague Radovan Vujović in the role of Kambasković – resorting to minimalist movements and reactions, interspersed with semi-articulated utterances, she often manages to convey meaning that goes beyond the otherwise rich language of the play. Her performance in the background was so disarming that there was no way it could go unnoticed and why it was such a pleasure to give Branka this award.

The best actor award went to Radovan Vujović for his portrayal of Vitomir Kambasković, and here is why: The jury members continued to laugh long after the end of the performance and while making their decision. For his portrayal of Vitomir Kambasković, Radovan Vujović chose his weapons very carefully – from hair combs and snot, through broad but extremely coordinated movements and gestures, to minute facial expressions and speech mannerisms. He brought a smile to our faces in spite of the fact that he is portraying an abominable human being and an entirely uncompromising political sycophant.
