READ MOREThe production of Why Does Herr R. Run Amok? by Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Michael Fengler, directed by Bobo Jelčić won four awards at 16 th International Comedy Festival ‘Mostarska Liska’. The jury, comprised of actor and professor at the Academy of Performing Arts Senad Bašić (president of the jury), theatre director and dean of the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo Pjer Žalica and actor Erol Kadić, awarded the Festival Grand Prix to the Yugoslav Drama Theatre production with the explanation that the award went to a comedy that stems from an almost tragic theatrical process that brings together brilliant direction and extraordinary acting to produce a theatrical experience to be remembered.
The Ahmet Obradović award for best director went to Bobo Jelčić for his precise directing method which uses consistent stylistic devices and, in a carefully orchestrated tempo-rhythm, places all the elements of stage expression in the service of his artistic idea managing, all the while making sure not to encroach on the opulent creations by his actors.
The jury awarded the best actor award to Boris Isaković for his unexpectedly humorous approach which, coupled with his thoughtful and emotionally charged acting, manages to create something that seems almost impossible.
The media jury was unanimous in their decison to give their award to the production of Why Does Herr R. Run Amok? and justified it by saying that it was motivated by artistically unusual, theatrically persuasive and exciting story, directed with great imagination and aplomb and enhanced by the talent and creativity and brilliant performances from its cast.
The production of Why Does Herr R. Run Amok? was performed to a full house on Saturday, 20 th April at the Mostarska Liska theatre festival, held at the National Theatre in Mostar with several curtain calls at the end of the performance.
