
Božo Koprivica, dramaturgue and author, died today in Belgrade.
Born in Nikšić in 1950. Received a degree in World Literature from the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade.
As a dramaturgue, worked closely with the Yugoslav Drama Theatre on productions such as Eve of Retirement (Thomas Berhnard, directed by Dino Mustafić, 2006), Don Krsto (Vida Ognjenović, directed by Vida Ognjenović, 2007), Le Tartuffe (Molière, directed by Egon Savin, 2008), Born in YU (directed by Dino Mustafić, 2010), By the Bog of Cats (Marina Carr, directed by Egon Savin, 2009), The Development Path of Bora Šnajder (Aleksandar Popović, directed by Egon Savin, 2023).
Koprivica also collaborated with other theatres in the role of a dramaturgue: Kanjoš Macedonović (Budva City Theatre, 1989), Collateral Damage (Atelje 212, 2000), Doctor Schuster (Zvezdara Theatre, 2001), Ubu Roi (Kraljevo Theatre, Zetski Dom in Cetinje, 2003), Marko Kraljević – Super Star (Kult Centre, 2007), Kanjoš Macedonović (National Theatre in Belgrade, 2011), This Grave’s Too Small for Me (Bitef, 2014).
In addition, Koprivica worked as editor with Književne Novine. Author of books: Volley and Music, Kiš, Borges Maradona, Dribbling 1001 Nights, Only the Gods Can Make Promises, Derbi, My Derbi, A Madman Is an Eternal Child, Street Dream, Even Boys Can Make Promises, Danilo Kiš’s Exercise Book, Two Friends’ Blues in 54 Weeks.
Koprivica was a diehard Partizan supporter.
