Rehearsals began today at the Yugoslav Drama Theatre for a new production of Eldorado by Marius von Mayenburg. This is a play by one of the most influential German playwrights and will be directed by Veljko Mićunović. Translation by Jelena Kostić Tomović, dramaturgy by Slobodan Obradović, set design by Numen/For Use and Ivana Jonke, costume design by Marija Marković Milojev with Ljiljana Mrkić Popović in charge of speech coaching.
The cast includes Nikola Rakočević, Goran Šušljik, Nataša Ninković, Miodrag Dragičević, Ivana Vuković and Marta Bogosavljević.
The play Eldorado brings to the stage the fresh breath of society as it stands at this moment without the banality of an update. After a series of very successful productions in other theatres, the director Veljko Mićunović returns to the YDT, the theatre from which he graduated some fifteen years ago.
The opening of this production is scheduled for March.
