Once again, the prestigious American design magazine Graphis in choosing this year’s award recipients selected the posters designed by Mirko Ilić for Yugoslav Drama Theatre productions.
Gold medals went to the posters for the productions of The Development Path of Bora Šnajder and Pains of Youth while the silver awards went to An Incident at the Border, The Tin Drum, The Loser and Disco Pigs.
Mirko Ilić has worked with the Yugoslav Drama Theatre for the last seven seasons and the posters he designed for our productions have so far received numerous awards and high praise. Several exhibitions have also been held which included posters designed by Ilić for the YDT.
The Graphis magazine was established in 1944 and is one of the most respectable and influential magazines promoting the very best in the area of design, advertising, photography and illustration. Each year, Graphis publishes the best works in its annual edition and so far their editions have carried posters for our productions of Oedipus, Titus Andronicus, The Miracle in Šargan, Dr Ausländer, Kaspar, Who the Fuck Started All This, The Belgrade Trilogy, Offing, Lorenzaccio, Uncle Vanya, Nathan the Wise and The Glass Neck. This year Graphis published the six posters which won Ilić the award for this year.
