A guest performance of Pansion Eden by Zagreb Youth Theatre (ZYT) is scheduled for Tuesday, 31 st March on our Ljuba Tadić stage. This is a project based on the original idea by Éva Zabezsinszkij, Juli Jakab and Árpád Schilling in cooperation with ZYT. Directed by Árpád Schilling.
The cast includes Hrvojka Begović, Katarina Bistrović Darvaš, Zoran Čubrilo, Dado Ćosić, Petar Leventić, Edvin Liverić, Filip Nola, Urša Raukar, Rakan Rushaidat, Doris Šarić Kukuljica, Mateo Videk and Tina Orlandini.
This is the first production directed by Árpád Schilling in Croatia. Schilling arrived at ZYT with an idea of a script that he and the actors developed as a joint project. Initially, the title of the production was Furgon because Schilling and the co-authors Juli Jakab and Éva Zabezsinszkij arrived from Hungary with a disturbing story of human traffickers who knew from the start that the refrigerated lorry that was transporting people was not intended for transporting anything alive. And, of course, tragedy ensued. Do those concerned feel any kind of responsibility and to what extent?
Pansion Eden centres around a family which, once their secrets are exposed, have to admit to the truth. Lies are interwoven with fears, desires, abuse of power, corruption, religious beliefs….
