The jury of 15th International Theatre Festival ZAPLET 15, comprised of Maja Ristić, expert on theatre theory, Smiljana Marinković, actress and Mladen Miljanović, artist, awarded the best upcoming actor award to Joakim Tasić for his portrayal of Wertheimer in the Yugoslav Drama Theatre production of The Loser. The jury justified their decision with these words: Joakim Tasić is very expressive in his portrayal of a pianist striving to become the perfect musician and the best pianist the world has ever known who slowly becomes unable to see any point in constant practising and denying himself the pleasures of real life for the sake of music. Joakim Tasić is entirely committed to Wertheimer’s tragic fate and infuses his character with lots of energy and empathy His acting is a lesson in all the possibilities of feeling expressed through body movements.
The performance of The Loser by Thomas Bernhard / A. S. Pushkin, directed by Nataša Radulović, took place on Monday, 23rd October at the ZAPLET 15 International Theatre Festival in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
