NENAD JEZDIĆ JOINS THE YUGOSLAV DRAMA THEATRE ENSEMBLE

After many years of successfully appearing in many YDT productions, Nenad Jezdić officially joined our ensemble. Over the last few years, Nenad Jezdić has appeared in a number of notable roles in Uncle Vanya by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, directed by Egon Savin, The King of Betajnova by Ivan Cankar, directed by Milan Nešković, Right You Are, If You Think So by Luigi Pirandello, directed by Jagoš Marković, Under the Millstone by Dragoslav Nenadić, directed by Egon Savin and The Travelling Troupe Šopalović by Ljubomir Simović, directed by Jagoš Marković. Other Yugoslav Drama Theatre productions include The Patriots by Jovan Sterija Popović, directed by Dejan Mijač (2003) and The Terrace by Jovan Hristić, directed by Tanja Mandić Rigonat (2004).

Jezdić has received numerous awards for his performances in YDT productions: for his portrayal of Jožef Kantor in The King of Betajnova he received the City of Belgrade award for services to drama in 2018 and the Miloš Žutić award for 2018, presented by the Drama Artists’ Association of Serbia.At the International Small Scenes Theatre Festival in Rijeka in 2018 he received the Veljko Maričić best supporting actor award for Right You Are, If You Think So. Recipient of the YDT Annual Award for the productions of The King of Betajnova and Uncle Vanya, as well as the Branka and Mlađa Veselinović YDT Foundation award for his performance in The King of Betajnova in 2019.

Graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Art in Belgrade. Joined the Atelje 212 ensemble in 1998. Appeared in productions in many other theatres besides Atelje 212 and YDT. Recipient of numerous theatre and film awards.

Rehearsals of Offing by Branislav Nušić, directed by Egon Savin, began recently at the Yugoslav Drama Theatre. Besides Nenad Jezdić, the cast also includes Sloboda Mićalović, Ljubomir Bandović, Vesna Stanković, Nebojša Milovanović, Bojan Dimitrijević, Bojan Lazarov, Cvijeta Mesić, Ljiljana Međeši… The production is scheduled to open in November.
