The director of the Yugoslav Drama Theatre attended the opening of the most important theatre festival in Europe.

A performance of Iphigenia by Tiago Rodrigues, directed by Anne Théron, marked the first day of the festival in Avignon. This is a co-production between the National Theatre in Strasbourg, the Festival in Avignon and the National Theatre in Porto and is part of a greater project by the Union of Theatres of Europe which consists of seven co-productions. Another co-production in this cycle is that of Fires by Marguerite Yourcenar, directed by Carme Portacelli, between the Yugoslav Drama Theatre and the National Theatre in Barcelona.

The première of Fires at the Yugoslav Drama Theatre is scheduled for the end of the year after which the production will have its première at the National Theatre in Barcelona. This co-production will be on the programmes of the Otoño festival in Madrid and in the Finisterre festival in Porto in 2023.
