A performance of Uncle Vanya by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, directed by Egon Savin, is scheduled for Saturday, 20th August at the Ohrid Summer Festival in North Macedonia.
This is a play about missed opportunities, apathy, shattered illusions and failed ambitions. The current production opened on our Ljuba Tadić stage in December 2018 with the cast including Nenad Jezdić, Marija Vicković, Branislav Lečić, Marko Baćović, Milica Gojković / Iva Stefanović, Dubravko Jovanović and Aleksandra Nikolić. Costume design by Jelena Stokuća with set design and direction by Egon Savin.
This production of Uncle Vanya by A.P. Chekhov, directed by Egon Savin was part of the Theatre Spring festival in Šabac, BOK festival in Bijelovar, Gavella Evenings at the city drama theatre – Gavella in Zagreb with a guest performance at the Slovene National Theatre Drama in Ljubljana.
Last year, the Yugoslav Drama Theatre was also present at the Ohrid Summer Festival with two of its productions – My Husband by Rumena Buzharovska, directed by Jovana Tomić and Offing by Branislav Nušić, directed by Egon Savin.
