The opening of Alice in Fearland by Eva Mahkovic, directed by Aleksandar Popovski, is scheduled for Saturday, 3th February at 8pm on our Ljuba Tadić stage.
The cast includes: Milena Radulović, Nebojša Ljubišić, Sloboda Mićalović, Radovan Vujović, Milan Marić, Jovana Belović, Iva Stefanović, Tamara Šustić and Denis Murić. Set design by Numen/For Use & Vanja Magić, costume design by Mia Popovska, music composed by Marjan Nećak with Ljiljana Mrkić Popović in charge of speech coaching.
The main theme of Alice is the passage of time: the time that passes even though the world is not giving us anything close to what we as a generation were promised as a matter of course: When you grow up, you can do anything. Right now, even being anything is very hard. Thus the numerous characters in Alice in Fearland are grown up girls who are especially affected by the passage of time: I’ve been around for quite some time, I’ve taken advantage of every single opportunity (just as I was supposed to), and it’s already too late for so many things. This is a nightmare, but, at the same time, it is also life, says the Queen of Hearts. This is more true now than it has ever been – says Eva Mahkovic, author of Alice in Fearland.
Additional performances are scheduled for Sunday 6th, Thursday 10th and Monday 21th February.
