Boris Liješević: I discovered Lorenzaccio in an old box of plays that had been sitting there for over a decade. I got it from Ognjenka Milićević nearly fifteen years ago. What drew me to it was the combination of momentous historical events and intimate moments; of general and personal. A revolutionary and a Father fearing for his children are fighting for supremacy inside one person; a murderous tyrant and a boy desperate to preserve his soul and his good name. The boy wanted his place in history and lost everything. He became disappointed and realised he had got things and life very wrong. The road to history is paved with vices, sin and infamy. One should not work to help humanity and general good because it is difficult to wash your hands clean afterwards.
